Police Ringmaster Message - 22 December 2012

A Distraction Burglary

This message is related to crime ref. BW/12/877.

A distraction burglary occurred on Egloshayle Road, Wadebridge at approximately 13:00 hrs on Tuesday 18/12/2012. It is believed 3 males in blue overalls entered the property claiming to be from Council/Water board wanting to check the drains. We believe whilst one male stayed with the elderly resident, the others went upstairs and made an untidy search of a number of rooms and left with a large amount of cash. The males are described as white, wearing blue overalls.

Please make your neighbours and friends aware of this incident, particularly your more vunerable and elderly neighbours, to exercise caution when opening the door to unexpected callers and to keep the door chain on if they have one.
