Newton Ferrers' Solar Farm - 30th March 2015

Although not in the parish of Pillaton, we have been affected during the construction phase of the solar farm at Newton Ferrers by the many, very large, lorries bringing materials in down our narrow country lanes.

Also the need to link this solar farm to the National Grid sub-station at Ellbridge has necessitated the digging of trenches across our parish for the new underground cabling.

Concerns were raised earlier about the state of the roads (see Solar Farm Near Pillaton) but hopefully most of this disruption is coming to an end.

David Dolley has provided the photograph above showing part of the ca 80 acre site commenting that it consists of around 80,000 panels and is the largest such installation in the South West.
